The Mission of the Logan Health Study Community Advisory Group is to:
The first meeting was held October 29, 2001 at the Department of Public Health building in Boston. Representing the BEHA were Suzanne Condon, the Assistant Commissioner of the BEHA, Elaine Krueger, Chief of the Environmental Toxicology Program, and Greg Merriman, the Logan Health Study Project Coordinator. Greg Merriman made the central presentation at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to communicate current status and strategies, establish the role of the CAC, and to set times for future meetings. Fifteen community representatives will contribute to the CAC. They were chosen because of their backgrounds and expertise in related health sciences, and because of demonstrated interest in health issues concerning Logan Airport. Representing Winthrop on the CAC are: Dr. Brian Dumser, Barbara Flavin and Arthur Flavin, Sr. All three are members of Winthrop's AIR Environment-Health Committee, who conducted the Winthrop Health Study. To contact one of Winthrop's representatives, send us an E-Mail. The names of the other representatives will be added here, when finalized. We will also describe the timetable, methods, etc of the impending study. To refresh your understanding, you may want to review the original plans for
